There are about 8.000 species of centipedes that exist and live over a wide geographical area.

Centipedes may be recognized by their specific feature: they have a lot of legs, all the time pair, varying from 30 to 354 legs. Their color is yellowish, grey or dark brown; the insect is about one inch long.

Centipedes are usually carnivorous. House centipedes are considered frightening. They may be found in

soil and under terrestrial vegetation litter, under wood in dark humid places, under stones and inside logs.
