Cockchafers

Cockchafers are commonly named “June beetle”. They are a major turf pest, and also a major problem for agriculture and forestry. Grubs’ larvae feed on the roots of grass; meanwhile the adults feed on foliage.

The best way to recognize them is by their brown color and the “leaves” on their antennae. The damage to the turf is significant: 1-2 inches spots done by predators in order to get the grub. The larvae are difficult to control; it implies specific pesticides and a pest management plan.
